When it comes to my mother she is beyond amazing. No matter what goes on she is still badass. I waited purposely to post this blog update due to the nature of the content and didn't want the chance of my Mother's Day gift being spoiled. So here you have it.
Earlier this year I before I made my move to sunny Los Angeles, California I had the chance to gift and shoot a Beloved Portrait session of my mum for her birthday. What a gift that was, being able to bring out and share with anyone who looks at her images a part of her soul that often times get's forgotten. Now fast forward to now, May, and my mother has yet to make plans to own prints of her Beloved session. I decided the next best thing was to provide a print, that to me, describes my mum and all her beauty, inside and out. With print chosen it was then out to find the right frame. I had originally planned to just purchase a trusty ol mass produced designer frame. When I mentioned this little project to a dear friend of mine who owns an amazing vintage and repurposed furniture shop in Hermosa Beach, CA called, Curious... he suggested that I just custom build her a frame and he would even assist on this. (I've built things before but never a frame so this was exciting.) With saw dust flying and paint and nails applied we finished this project and provided my beautiful mum's image a resting spot that will forever be found on her wall in her home. (See the three images above for visual evidence)
I truly hope the rest of you current and future mothers out there had a wonderful Mother's Day 2012. And you guys out there had better have taken care of these amazing women.
Thanks again mum... you are amazing and such an example to being a great parent. -AG
