Playa del Rey, CA - Adventures in a Seaside Town

Added on by Andrew Gawdun.

A month ago I posted a recent adventure where I met up with new friend Jeremy from social sites and photo walked.  Well we did it again!  (insert pop-culture reference you see fit.)  This time we chose to shoot around Playa del Rey, a little tiny seaside town hidden behind LAX (Los Angeles International Airport.)  I mean this town is so tiny that if you sneezed you would miss it, but it's amazing!  It delivered some great finds for Jeremy and I.  A quaint little community of homes, water way of beauty, and of course the boat that washed ashore.  Enjoy the views.  -AG

San Francisco, California - Adventure with a City

Added on by Andrew Gawdun.

It's been a busy past few weeks.  I turned 30, did some major traveling, saw some live music and have had a handful of house guests.  I could talk about all the mentioned events but this time I'm here to share my adventures in the great city of San Francisco with Bryce.  Of course we both had work obligations while there but as always we managed to turn the 4 day trip into some fun times and adventure.

Arriving in San Francisco on a Saturday gave us plenty of time to spend days with dear friends/family whom we both hadn't seen in many months, or even years.  WE LOVED IT ALL.  This was also my first "real" time visiting this new favorite city.  We stayed with friends in The Castro, took the BART and Streetcar system around and of course ate great food.  Let me just say I have never seen a city transit system work so well.  Why Los Angeles can't get it together is beyond me.  (LA has the worst transit and Metro service I have ever seen for a major city.)

After we had taken care of Bryce work obligations Sunday we spent Monday being whisked away around the great city for exploration and touristy fun with one of my best friends Molly and her husband Irvin and fresh new baby Zander.  (I sure hope I spelled Zander right).  You may remember Molly and Irvin from a past blog post involving their wedding a couple years ago.  Now I know what you think when any form of the word "tourist" comes to mind... boring, long days seeing some sort of colonial war ship/plantation where some sort of re-enactment is taking place.  That is not the case with Irvin and Molly.  We went out and had an adventure while seeing sights of the city.  Starting with breakfast under Chinese lanterns, a brisk hike up Twin Peaks and viewing the usual foggy city on a clear day, trek across the Golden Gate while a small child gives you the stare down for playing with his mobile (you would too if you saw the cool light show it gave off), seeing the Golden Gate Park Buffalo on their feeding break behind cages, (don't worry is sounds worse than it really was but this is my adventure and I'll write it my way) followed by a really swell sandwich and coffee and this amazing cafe down by the beach...  Man I love Molly and Irvin!  (and also did you notice there was not a single period in that last sentence so by now you are out of breath and viewing the next images will help you catch your breath.  You are very welcome.)

That final full day in the city we managed to explore some more before I headed out for a photo session with muses Mike, Andrea and their adorable baby Stella.
