Hermosa Beach, CA - Secrets in Beauty

Added on by Andrew Gawdun.

A month or so ago our cat decided to go out for a walk one night without permission.  This caused us to get out and hunt her down.  While doing so I became aware of the alley ways that Hermosa Beach has to offer, which stirred a new obsession in the ways our alleys become art pieces as additional designs to already awesome homes.  Home entrances, small planters and even garage doors have become ways to separate most of these homes found in the alleys away from the harsh world of concrete and asphalt.  So last week I headed out and captured some of these alley way beauties.

With my newest lens in hand, LensBaby Composer Pro 35 (which allows me to blur and create a type of tilt-shift effect), I made my way down one street on one side of town taking in all the secrets in beauty that Hermosa has to offer.  Enjoy!  -AG

Thanks for checking out this post.  If you enjoyed this California Photo Adventure make sure you check out a recent adventure I went on in a neighboring Los Angeles town, Playa del Rey.  I also used the LensBaby system for that adventure too :)

Hermosa Beach, CA - Blood Moon

Added on by Andrew Gawdun.

It's the second time I've witnessed the "Blood Moon" but first time I've been able to capture the event on camera.  I was not sure if it would be shootable being in the city but it managed to turn out.  I'm also pretty sure that to the right of both moons you will see the little white speck and that I think would be Mars.  "Neat", says the old science nerd.  -AG

Just about a full Lunar Eclipse.  (I'm pretty sure that is Mars to the right of the moon.)
